BMB06/20 Oak Glen Saturday 7th October 2006

Our recent visit to Oak Glen was really very pleasant, with a starting temperature of 42º (!), no-one else around except for two ‘rangers’, and a specie count of 36, including a Black-throated Grey Warbler, Townsend’s Warbler, Cassin’s Vireo – and Cam found a Sora!. The count of 36 is greater than I recall in the past and that without any acknowledged eyes or ears!

We have two further outings scheduled;

Monday 16th October to Big Bear. Car Pool at BMCP at 7am, Discovery Centre in Big Bear about 8am. Bring water and a picnic lunch for a full day. It could be cool!

Monday 23rd October to Bear Paw Ranch, Car Pool at Denny’s, Palm Springs at Indian and I10 at 7.30amBring water and a picnic lunch for a full day and again, it could be cool!.

Please let me know if you intend joining either of these outings.

Sunny gave me the address of a blog which I found interesting and you might – she thought something you might like to look at when you aren’t in a hurry! Don’t be mislead by the Hummingbird website; it’s not what you thought it would be. Go to http://www.charliesbirdblog.com/~charlie/index.html
